ICBF publish 2021 edition of magazine

We’re delighted to announce the release of The ICBF Magazine 2021. This year’s 40-page bumper edition includes a wide variety of articles giving perspectives on how cargo bikes are used by people from across the globe. Places like Uganda, Ecuador, Portugal, Romania and Canada are represented, along with, naturally, the Netherlands.

ICBF Director Jos Sluijsmans said: “Just like in 2020 we’ve published a magazine despite no International Cargo Bike Festival going ahead this year. We’ve done that because there are so many exciting developments going on in the cargo bike world.”

What’s it like to ride a cargo bike in Edinburgh? How can cargo bikes be used to carry out services? Can you rap about cargo bikes (spoiler: yes)? Is it possible to fix cars, maintain gardens or collect waste with a cargo bike? All of these questions and more are answered in the magazine; plus an update on how we might all be soon using a new #CargoBikeEmoji.

Alongside the 2021 edition, for the first time we’ve made the whole archive of ICBF Magazines available to read on our website. Check out the magazine page to read the full set.

We’ll also be highlighting each article in the next few weeks on our social media channels. To join the conversation, join nearly 17000 others and follow us on our @cargobikefest Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn pages.

Many thanks to our advertisers for their support. Without them, the magazine wouldn’t have been possible:

  • DOCKR
  • Urban Arrow
  • Hivebox
  • Cargo Cycling
  • CycleSpark
  • Rad Power Bikes
  • New Motion Labs
  • Gemeente Groningen, and;
  • Bakfiets.nl

Thanks also to our many contributors this year for sharing their insights.

The ICBF Magazine 2021 was coordinated by Karin Veenendaal. The Editor was Tom Parr.
